1. A rapid Learning Tool to Learn a New Language Using Graphic Intermediary. Seneviratne RW, Kumara MMAJ. Third academic session, Faculty of Humanitarian and Social sciences. University of Ruhuna, 30th January 2006
Turning letters of a one language in to another using real or abstract graphics as an intermediary is tested on a batch of soldiers attempting to learn militarily important Morse code from English. The success has wide implications on learning any language.
2. Initial Management of mass Casualties- Some Sri Lankan Experiences. Seneviratne RW, International Conference on Military medicine and disaster management. 21st-23rd July 2006.
My lecture included personal experiences  as the leading triage doctor in Army base hospital Palaly in military operations “Ugnikeela” , Withdrawal from elephant pass and at teaching hospital, Galle on the day of tsunami. My reflections and suggestions were well discussed by the local and foreign audience.
3.  Value of Lateral Thinking in Military Problem Solving:  Seneviratne  RW: KDU Annual Symposium  December2009.
This lecture was appreciated by the chair and audience as a way forward in developing intellectual capacity and problem solving skills of military officers turning military in to a more professional force which is capable of taking up growing challenges.
4.  A new Simple Technique for Suturing a Laceration in the Field. KDU Annual Symposium  August 2010. This describes a method of suturing which can be applied by medics with minimal training in field circumstances.

This is a farsighted study importing successful concepts from historical battles against then superpowers to modern era, in order to formulate a strategic framework to combat occupying technologically superior foreign force should it becomes a reality.

1.  Damage Control (Salvage Surgery) in Penetrating Trauma – Seneviratne RW. International Conference in Military Medicine, Colombo, 2000. his is most likely the first lecture delivered in Sri Lanka on the concept of damage control (salvage) which has since expanded and is widely practiced in Sri Lanka at present
2.  Intra-Abdominal Solid Organ Injuries following penetrating trauma. Seneviratne RW. International Conference in Military Medicine-June 2002. Assessment and management of solid organ injuries along with related personal war experiences were discussed.  I have lost the lecture details during the sudden movement of my unit following the bomb blast targeting commander of the Army which happened in front of the HQ, Sri Lanka Army Medical Corps(V). Certificate and the letter from head of the military medical services certifying the delivery of the lecture is attached.
3. Amputations of the Lower Limb. International Conference in Military Medicine-July 2003. Advantages and disadvantages of different levels of amputations were discussed with special emphasis on effects of different landmines/Improvised explosive devises and complications following war amputations.
