At present, the department extends its services in the following areas apart from the undergraduate student teaching, training and evaluation.
• Operating theatres at Teaching hospitals, Karapitiya and Mahamodara,
• Pre-anaesthetic assessment clinic,
• Post-operative pain management,
• High Dependency Care services,
• Cardio-pulmonary resuscitation activities in the hospital and in the community
• Anaesthesthetic services at Magnetic Resonance Imaging Unit at TH, Karapitiya,
• Elective student training programme
• Postgraduate training and evaluation of doctors in Anaesthesiology
