Services
Department of Psychiatry provides clinical services at the Teaching Hospital Karapitiya. These services include adult acute inpatient service, adult outpatient service, adult consultation and liaison service, and day service in the hospital, and Child & adolescent outpatient and liaison services. In addition Forensic psychiatric services related to the above mentioned fields are provided by the Department. Members of the staff also provide consultation and outpatient services to medium stay inpatient unit of District Hospital Unawatuna which has in-patient and rehabilitation facilities. In addition the department provides maternal mental health services to Teaching Hospital Mahamodara.
