Ph.D. and MPhil Research Degrees

With the establishment of Faculty of Graduate Studies of the University of Ruhuna in 2011, the Board of Study in Medicine was created to process and evaluate applications for PhD and MPhil degrees in the fields of medical and allied health sciences. It replaced the Research and Higher Degrees Committee of the Faculty of Medicine which processed and evaluated research proposals of the research projects leading to postgraduate research degrees, namely Ph.D. and MPhils until 2011.
Applicants submitting research proposals to the Board of Study in Medicine need to follow the guidelines in preparing the proposal. The proposals submitted will be evaluated by 3 experts in the relevant fields to improve the quality of the research projects for postgraduate research degrees.
