The Professorial Ward Complex in the Teaching Hospital nearing completion

The construction work of the Professorial ward complex (PWC) in the National Hospital, Galle is nearing completion at a cost of nearly 2 billion rupees. The PWC has 320 beds in the medical, surgical, gynecological and psychiatric units, three operating theaters, 10 bed Intensive care unit, outpatient clinics and examination halls. All beds with mattresses and three operating tables worth 120 million Sri Lankan rupees have been donated by a Chinese donor through the negotiation of Ruhuna Medical School Alumni Association with pioneering efforts of Dr Sarath Kularathna.
At present we solicit support and donations to furnish wards and operating theatres with anesthetic machines and other equipment mentioned below.


The Faculty of Medicine, University of Ruhuna requests your valuable donations to commence patient care and clinical training of medical and allied health undergraduates in the PWC.
